Don’t let the name fool you or scare you…..it’s an awesome alternative to chili.

1 cup chopped onion
1 tsp garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
1 16 oz jar Picante Sauce
1 lb Italian Sausage (ground)
1 pkg Smoke Sausage
2 cans of black beans
1 can of beer
1 bundle of cilantro (finely chopped)
Brown the Italian sausage and smoke sausage in separate skillets, drain and set aside. In a large pot, saute onions and garlic in olive oil until tender, add the beans and cook for about 10 minutes. Add picante sauce and cook 5 minutes, then add cilantro and 1/2 can of beer. Add meat and simmer on low for an additional 10 minutes.
Note ~ on the beer, I buy the 20 oz can verses buying a six pack.
Recipe of the week will run on Thursdays in time for the weekend. People used to request this at work for food days.

I’ve bookmarked this to try over superbowl weekend! If you get a chance, you can link this one up with me on Wednesday to share {I’ve moved the link party from Fri. to Wed. to include anything fashion related, crafty, edible, or handmade}. Hope all is well and you are settling in to your new job:D
