Sunday I went to a blogger meet up here with the STL Blogger group on Facebook. We met up at this very trendy bakery named Nadoz Euro Bakery Cafe. They were very gracious and wonderful hosts, we received a free fresh juice beverage from the juice bar, it was mixed with beets, pineapple and carrots. It was called Tropical Beet juice, I know it doesn’t sound good but it was delicious. They used all of the pineapple too, core and skin. The food was light, and delicious. We also had a little wine, I took about two sips. The turn out was low even though 20 people did RSVP, 8 bloggers showed up for the event. I knew one of bloggers, Robyn Wright of Robyn’s Online World. We introduced ourselves and talked about our blogs, ate a little and mingled. One of the owners told me that she follows me! That’s the power of handing out business cards. So glad I took them, I need to have them done again, the font is too small.
I’m convinced that we need to meet in real life, online is wonderful but we need to get out and enjoy the company of others, even if it is every once and a while. I would even like to do another blogger meet up there. It was nice to get out after the snow storm last week and before the next one comes this week. We had a good time.
Then I finally got a chance to go in this store, Soft Surroundings. I’ve gotten a few catalogs in the mail, but never went there until today. I found about 3 or 4 things I wanted but settled on some honey butter balm that felt so good on my dry hands, I just had to have it. It was a treat and I’m glad I purchased it. When I get an opportunity, I’m going back. It was a true shopping experience, very different from walking in a normal boutique. Well probably because I haven’t really been to a boutique in a very long time. The clothing is for the mature woman, relaxed pieces kind of reminds me of Chicos a little. They sell clothing, shoes and accessories, balms and butters for your body, bedding and some accessories for your home.
This is what I wore today, it will serve as my OOTW:
Pants ~ Lane Bryant Catalog (Old)
Sweater ~ Nordstrom Rack
Cami ~ Lane Bryant
Boots ~ Borrowed from my daughter, I don’t own any flats boots and I didn’t want to walk around in high heeled boots today.
Jewelry ~ Silpada
Note: I wasn’t compensated for my reviews today, these are my personal experiences.

I love blogger meetups I am glad you got to meet people in real life it gives their online presence so much more depth. Love what you wore too simple and easy.

Thanks Kita, do you know there were actually people out in flip flops yesterday? It’s still snow everywhere and you feel the cold from the snow. I couldn’t believe it.
Aww that looks like a lot of fun! Woohoo for you! I love the outfit Whitney. As always, you look beautiful

Yes it was very nice, thanks had a good time getting out.
I would like to attend at least one blogger meet up this year! I also plan to attend a blog conference. I see all of the awesome changes with your blog, and I love it! Cute outfit too.

Thanks Sherelle, that’s also my plan too, attend one conference. BlogHer is in Chicago this year, but that conference is pretty pricey, but it may be worth it. I could meet up with a few people and we could drive from here.
I think it’s awesome that you live in a city where you can host a blogger meetup and have that kind of turn out. I’d love to attend one and get to meet some people, I think it would be super fun. Hope you made some new blends!

How fun! Glad you were able to get out and mingle with fellow bloggers! It’s always fun to meet the person behind the screen. Speaking of which…my visit to STL is official for April! Once I get the agenda we’ll have to chat to see if we’ll have a chance to meet up while I’m there!
