Cafe Mocha Reflections is a blog for women over 40 and our journey.  I started reading blogs and the first thing I noticed was most of the women that were blogging were under 40.  The blogs were wonderful, but I wanted to read blogs about women my age, the issues we have with getting older, our future, relationships, family and what motivates us.  I realize that I can learn from anyone and be inspired by women no matter their age.  We’ll explore fashion, health issues including menopause, relationships with each other and everything in between.  My goal is to share, encourage and be an inspiration.    I may have an occasional rant, but it’s about something in the news, social media or something going on in my life that I need to express in writing.  I don’t claim to know the answers to everything, but will research anything that I’m not sure about before I post it on my blog.  I have two daughters and a wonderful husband that support me all the way.  I am a Christian, music lover, I love writing and expressing myself.  This was a perfect outlet for me.  I make jewelry when I find the time, but right now I’m a work in progress on being a entrepreneur.

I’m a mother of two beautiful girls, that inspire me, make me proud and also make me shake my head at times.  I love my children and we’ve been on an amazing journey so far.  We’ve had challenges, but we always get manage to see the other side and tackle anything.   I can’t wait until they become adults and explore what the world has for them.  I always try to encourage them to explore their world, get your education because no one can take it away from you.   Most of all I tell them to be more than beautiful….be phenomenal.

I’m a wife to this wonderful man who has also challenged me in ways I didn’t think I could handle.  We have learned together that marriage is more than I love you , you love me…let’s be together.   It’s a commitment and a bond that two people have to work everyday on….everyday.  I’ve learned over the years that no one is perfect, not even me and I have to look beyond what I think, or how something affects just me and my girls.  I plan to grow old with this man, and each day we push and work hard at our marriage and family.  Blended families are a challenge, but we are determined to make this one a great family.  Between the two of us we have six children and four grandchildren.

Please join me in my journey…..

Congratulations, for stepping out on faith and believing that all things are possible. You are an encouragement for me to put my words into action. So many times we put off things and don’t follow our heart, dream or passion for no reason at all. Today is a new day and my dream is my journey. I am on my mid life journey and I love it because it’s all about me! It’s about being over 40 and embracing life with all of your mind, body and spirit and knowing that whatever choice I make, I can live with it! I commend you and pray that God will bless your new endeavor!
